I found this firm using an online, price comparison site, they were one of the cheapest.If you are a first time or nervous buyer – you SHOULD NOT be using an online company – pay the extra, keep it local and personal.If you don’t need updates every five minutes and or your conveyancing is straight forward, I cannot recommend them enough, very pleased with the service. I understand why people might have left bad reviews for this company but as the old adage goes – you get what you pay for. My experience of Ross Coates has been completely positive and I will use them again.

I found this firm of solicitors very disappointing. I was buying my first house, I did not have a clue what was going on. I was never kept up to date. I had to remind John Blake to update me once a week.. and this never happened. Towards the end of the 6 months I was waiting for the purchase to go through, John started to get better.. but I still wouldn’t say it was a good service. A number of times I would ask for a call back as I was given excuses ‘hes not in the office’ and everyone seems so moody when answering the phone! Cheer up! When I rang once, I asked to make a complaint and a lady I spoke to just argued back basically telling me that I will get a call when there is an update etc and she was saying ‘Oh John wouldn’t do that’ … what when 2 weeks pass by with no call, should I still be waiting? No… I paid an extortionate amount for a service that I would not recommend to anyone.. Luckily the estate agent was more helpful and kept me updated at least once a week, if not more and I wasn’t even paying for their service.Very disappointing.*** Thanks for your reply but why was not I reassured this when I was going through the sale? I was not once reassured about anything or told what was going on. If I asked, I was just forwarded a massive chain of emails to and from the solicitors … It was not explained to me. Still, I don’t think the customer service is great and never was throughout the 6 months… as a first time buyer, you did not make it an easy process for me. I know it took 6 months and as I said, I am not complaining about the length of time it took or why, that’s not the issue here. So its nice for you to respond with the reasons why in your eyes but still don’t think you understand the issues here or why I am actually not happy with your service. My partner spoke to John after the sale and told him that he would have made it an easier process if he just picked up the phone to explain the points every tim … so I think your firm need to take this on board for everyone else going through the process **
